About This Course
The Performance Appraisal is central to the whole Performance Management process. If done correctly it can serve as a motivational exercise for new or current members of staff, but if done incorrectly it will have the opposite effect on all concerned. The key to a best practice appraisal system is preparation, staff involvement and training up the appraiser in advance of any delivery.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
By the end of this module each participant should be able to:
- Identify the purpose and scope of the appraisal interview
- Outline the steps required to prepare for this type of interview
- Be able to positively involve the employee in the whole process
- Conduct appraisal interviews that motivate the employee to positive action
- Use the appraisal interview as an opportunity to facilitate some real change
- Identify any training or development needs that need to be acted upon
WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
Aimed at any Supervisor or Team Leader tasked with planning and conducting appraisal interviews. No previous experience or training on this topic is required.
